ASHTAR for Theatre Productions and Training, is the first theatre training organization for youth in Palestine established in 1991. It’s experience is built over three artistic pillars; Youth Training, Community Theatre, and Professional Theatre. ASHTAR aims at empowering young women and men, in cities, villages, and refugee camps - in urban and remote areas, in Jerusalem, the West Bank and Gaza Strip. It introduces new ideas and perspectives on social change, while developing the skills and technical capacities of young theatre students and professionals, providing them with a vital space for innovation and creativity.

ASHTAR runs a school of theatre in Ramallah, an International Youth Theatre Festival, and an outreach program, in addition to its yearly professional productions that tour locally and internationally.
