Popular Art Centre’s Dance School
PAC’s Dance School program offers on annual basis a set of dance courses in the field of popular, creative and modern dance. Our aim is to strengthen the connection of the Palestinian Community with performing arts, mainly dance, as well as providing a safe space for children and youth, living under occupation, to freely and creatively express themselves. PAC is committed to bringing distinguished local trainers to teach our students with the best recent techniques.
PAC considers dance as an opportunity to learn. Learning dance is not limited to the technique of the movement, but it has other dimensions that we take into consideration. Dance can contribute to the refinement of personality, work within a group, awareness and discipline
PAC’s Dance School offers on an annual basis a set of dance courses, such as Palestinian Dabke, Afro-Dabkeh, Ballet, Salsa, and Contemporary dance. The courses are offered to a wide range of people including children, youth and adults from different areas. PAC also organizes dance courses for groups with mental disability, they are integrated with other students and they perform together. The dance school has also helped to establish dabkeh groups in less-privileged areas in Palestine.
The dance school organizes specialized training workshops for dance trainers on different aspects under the supervision of professional local and international trainers. PAC organizes annually a Dance School graduation ceremony in the Palestine International Festival, and students perform in front of nearly 1,800 audiences.
