100% Water / Eau Secours! - with Nawel Skandrani – Tunisia 2013

Nawel Skandrani studied Ballet in the Tunisian Conservatory of Music, where in at the age of 17 she won the First Prize in Choreography. Upon being awarded the third Prize in Pedagogical studies from the International Academy of Dance (AID) - Paris in 1979, Nawel started her professional dance career, in Italy first and then in California – USA (Berkeley Ballet Theater). Encouraged by Mohamed Driss, Director of the Tunisian National Theatre she came back to Tunis in 1988, where she established the “Theatre-Dance Studio” for both dancers and actors. Later in 1992, Nawel Skandrani was designated by the Ministry of Culture to create the Tunisian National Ballet (BNT) an Institution she led until 1996. Since 1997, she has been undertaking a career as choreographer and independent teacher, signing a dozen of creations.
